Valve Box Prefabricated FRP Lift Station Specifications
Description
Scope of Work
Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and performance of all work necessary or incidental to furnish and install a simplex/duplex prefabricated fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) Lift Station. The lift station shall be a completely factory-assembled unit, requiring minor adjustments and reassembly on site.
Quality Assurance
Qualifications of Manufacturer
The manufacturer shall demonstrate the ability to fabricate the various lift station components, as shown in the plans and as specified herein. The complete Lift Station shall be manufactured by AK Industries.

Additional Features
Exterior Layer
The exterior layer shall be constructed to provide the aggregate strength necessary to meet tensile and flexural requirements, with a smooth surface free of exposed fibers or sharp projections.
Tank Bottom
The tank bottom must be constructed to withstand total water-submerged conditions without interfering with pump mounting requirements. No glue adhesive shall be used for attachment of the basin bottom or anti-flotation collar.
Wet Well Top Flange
The top flange shall have an outside diameter at least 4 inches greater than the inside diameter of the basin and accommodate a ten-hole pattern for mounting a cover with stainless steel fasteners.
Valve Box
The integral valve box shall be constructed of fiberglass with dimensions varying based on pipe size and pump application. Valve boxes are available in square and D-shaped configurations for specific applications. Contact the AK Sales Team to determine the best fit for your needs.
Discharge Fittings
Discharge fittings shall be stainless steel, constructed with NPT couplings, and mounted with stainless steel hardware. They are sealed prior to mounting to ensure hydrostatic protection.
Ventilation
All wet well ventilation shall comply with applicable codes and regulations.
Delivery and Handling
The purchaser shall coordinate with the contractor to ensure the lift station is delivered to the project site for installation. Proper handling instructions will be provided by the manufacturer. Loose items should be stored in a clean, dry environment, and all necessary equipment for offloading and installation shall be provided by the contractor.
Guarantee
The prefabricated FRP lift station is guaranteed as per approved drawings for a period of one year from the date of delivery.
